I have no explanation for naming this feminine garb “The Bob,” except perhaps to take away the stereotypes of feminine and masculine. Bob is ladylike without tightly fitting on the body. Like the name Bob, there is an ease to the tailoring. In men’s attire there always seems to be pockets which are painstakingly missing from women’s clothing—so Bob has pockets, nicely placed just below the waist. The detailing of pleating around the neckline frames the face just as in a necklace, something Bob would never wear. The Bob has a little more fullness in the body because of the masculine tendency to want a looser fit. The flirty godet placed in the center- back seam was added just in case Bob forgot this dress is made for a woman’s shape and curves. The fullness of the Bob is meant to be cinched in with a belt, wide or narrow—just like Bob would wear it.
The Bob is available in sizes 1 (4-6), 2 (8) and 3 (10-12). The price is $415 and ships the last week of April. Contact Catherine and reserve yours today.
The belt is available at Kristen Kahle. It is black patent on one side and brown matte leather on the other side. This is the perfect accessory over dresses and cardigans and a steal at only $79. Made in the USA.
