When you pack for your trips you take time to consider what clothes to take because you want to look chic but without a lot of fuss. But do you ever consider your airport style?
Leggings might seem like the right choice of clothing to wear on a long flight as the upside is they are incredibly comfortable. The downside is you may not want to look as though you are on your way to yoga class instead of the Amalfi Coast. However, the fact that they are in style makes the choice an easy one so if leggings are your thing go for it. But leggings, as comfortable as they are, don’t possess the element of style that other pants offer. Your beloved jeans also seem like a good choice but denims can be uncomfortable unless you wear them oversized. Of course another comfortable option would be your skinny jeans which have all the stretch of leggings and the look of jeans. But if you want something a bit more stylish with the same amount of comfort there are other options.
Personally, I find wearing tight clothing on a long flight uncomfortable so I opt for looser cut trousers or trousers made with a woven fabric with just a touch of lycra—ones that don’t constrict my waistline and hips when I sit down because sitting will be my major activity for the next eight or so hours.
If you are interested in ditching your leg-hugging lycra tights and stepping-up your airport style then have a look at these trousers for your next trip.
Of course your choice of bottoms is not the only consideration when putting together an outfit. Deciding what shoes to wear is something to think about as well. Flip flops seem to be trending as the preferred footwear while traveling during the spring and summer months. However, there are a number of reasons why you should think twice about wearing them when you fly. The number one reason is that airports and airplanes are filthy! The very thought of having my feet exposed to the nasty elements lurking everywhere is more than I can bear.
My preferred footwear for travel are slip-on shoes. They are easy to kick off going through TSA and easy to kick off on the plane and then slip-on again when I need to get up. However, when I am in flight I never leave my feet undressed. Instead I take along a pair of cozy socks to wrap them in. When I do get out of my seat I simply slip my shoes back on.
Airplanes are notorious for being cold even in the summer months so it is wise to take along something to keep you warm.
Eat well, Laugh a lot, and travel chic!
