Sometimes you only need to take a very small carry on with you when you take a trip. The truth is the less you take with you the easier it is to travel. There are only 3 simple tips you need to follow when packing for a long weekend!
On my way to Palm Springs for a mini vacation requires a carry on but not the one I normally grab—that one is too big! Here is are 3 simple tips to follow to get you to your destination looking chic with a minimalist approach.
~Check the weather! We all have an idea of what the weather might be like when we arrive. For example when you think of California in the summer you think surfing, sand and eating alfresco. That image might be spot-on for Southern California but Northern California can not be just cold, it can be downright freezing!
~Make a list of places you plan on visiting. Taking a short trip to New York might require a more uptown wardrobe while visiting the Mendocino Coast would call for more relaxed attire. Don’t think in terms of “getting away” with wearing just anything. Have a plan!
~Think color story. When you are editing your wardrobe for your next trip be ruthless. Make sure your tops go with your bottom and your shoes are comfortable enough to take a long stroll. Unless, of course, you are being chauffeured everywhere in which case you probably shouldn’t be reading this because you are not going to be attending to your own suitcase.
